Introduction

The game of Lost Souls: Enchanted Paintings is touching story of mother looking for her mysteriously lost son. Plot of the game with missing child will not leave any mother indifferent about the story. The game of middle difficulty ends up unfinished since there is no blaming object for child kidnapping. But the game gives good impression of a game with interesting puzzles and adventures.

Gameplay

Mother of a boy, once received unknown package, makes very thoughtless decision to hang foreign painting in the room of her son. And that commences the event of giving up of her son to the painting in child’s room. The painting is still there as before but with a picture of the kid on it. Police cannot help woman about this strange incident. Only when fortune teller says that there is something connecting child to the mysteries painting in the wall, woman realizes the truth, she must travel to the world of Lost Souls: Enchanted Paintings. The evil painting turns into pieces and spreads out to all other paintings making journey of woman more difficult. Now she has to go through every painting.

Each world has it own canvas that should be worked on to collect pieces to finish torn painting. Completed painting will result in rescuing of people or purifying the water. The game starts well at the beginning but as the game goes further with its voices and arts, there is no more impression from mother being in a misery from lost son, and it seems, throughout the game, she didn’t came here to find her son.

Three elements that game has are: first – hidden objects which is common for such games, means going through and finding the objects in the list of words and pictures. I wouldn’t say of its difficulty level as being too high and not to mention about quick hints you can have whenever player stops somewhere in the game.

Second element are puzzles – easy to collect shuffled words posing no challenging task for the player. Although you can have some fun with scales used to weight out the gems. But puzzles are optional and payer doesn’t need to play them.
Third element are adventures – it is where player comes across with some difficulties while playing. The objective is to collect objects and find the proper place for them. Difficult part of this element is finding of required element and that is not always easy task.

Two levels, easy and expert in the game have no big difference. Easy level has only highlighting stars and hints. You can’t say of expert more as being heavy since it is distinct from easy one only by not having highlighted spots and hints. For such an easy game it is not that important to have them or not. Moreover game has no limitations in time.

Graphics

Game doesn’t give an unpleasant feeling of fear or unease because of its bright, vivid and en-lighted graphics arts. Every world has peculiar creatures living there. Game is very interactive with easy to find spots just by going around with mouse cursor.

Sound

Even if the music accords to the plot of the game – lost child, but the scenery doesn’t convey anxiety or worries of the woman from lost child.

Conclusion

Hidden object game Lost Souls: Enchanted Paintings can be taken as good a game for its fun and adventures. But the game doesn’t follow its concept of the storytelling about suffering mother who may go through everything to rescue the son. The game will last about an hour if played by beginner and may be less by experienced player. Meaningful puzzles of the game will make time spent enjoyable. Especially because of easiness to find hidden objects without resorting to game hints. Upon completion of playing, the game offers great screensavers, wallpapers, and other add on’s.
