Introduction

Let me introduce to you attention the game of hidden object genre Tales from the Dragon Mountain: The Strix. This project as many other games of this genre has a mystic scenario.Tales from the Dragon Mountain: The Strix will tell us about the adventures of a lady who’s name is Mina Lokheart with whom we will need to return back to the house of her childhood and to put an end to the evil which existed there forever.

Gameplay

From the very beginning of the Tales from the Dragon Mountain: The Strix you will need to choose the level of complexity. There are 3 of them in a game! There are easy – for the beginners, who probably try themselves in the hidden object game for the fist time, normal – with the standard level of help and also complicated – where you will need to count only on yourself. Such a various of playing mode makes this project to be available for the players of different skills, which as for me is a great plus of a game.

The scenario of a game is made in such a way that it is obvious that we deal with a mystical detective story. I liked it a lot because it is not so good when you know what will happen at the end from the very beginning. So, for sure you won’t loose your interest to the game till its end. I think that this is owing to the authors of the game Tales from the Dragon Mountain: The Strix for sure.

As all the other games of hidden object genre this game has many puzzles and tasks which we need to solve. As for the finding of the hidden things I can say it was not difficult for me to do it as the designers of the game decided not to fill in the locations with the unnecessary rubbish, which made the search much more easy. The vividness of the game seemed a bit strange for me because the matter of the game itself is to find the hidden things. But maybe for the beginners it would be rather good help. As for the part of the game which is responsible for riddles gave me much pleasure as they are rather difficult and interesting.

What I didn’t understand was the odd quality of the button – hint – in the game, because I didn’t understand those hints which I have got from the game-adviser . So, the gameplay receives 8/10

Graphics

I liked the graphic design of a game a lot, especially I was impressed by the fire from the very beginning of the introductory movie! I have got a very unpleasant feeling of danger. As for the game itself I can say that the background of locations also is designed in a rather professional way and especially the small details. Also I was impressed how the artists created the illumination of the game. This is illumination which gives the required atmosphere of every location. What I can refer to the minuses of the designer’s work were the models of the characters of the game. It seems that there was more attention given to the locations and but not the characters. So graphics receives 9/10

Sound

The sound of the game didn’t give me neither positive nor negative emotions. The sound was very well-balanced with a game, was in harmony with the surrounding and I simply didn’t notice it which I think is very good. But to my mind the music design of the hidden object genre game has to be on the same lever with visual. What I liked was how the characters were voiced and probably these were the only sounds I paid my attention to. So, the music design receives 6/10

Conclusion

Tales from the Dragon Mountain: The Strix is a rather good representative of a hidden object game genre. The game has everything which can satisfy the interest its fans – not bad scenario, rather entertaining puzzles and well-done graphics. So, I think that every player will find what he is looking for in this game. So, the game gets 7/10
